Adapteva Announctes A-1 Supercomputing Platform
LEIPZIG, Germany, June 23 – Adapteva Inc. unveils “A-1”, the world’s smallest and most energy efficient supercomputing platform today at the 2014 International Supercomputing Conference. The platform includes 2,112 independent high performance RISC processors, consumes less than 200 Watts and has a size of 15cm x 15cm x 68 cm.
“A-1” has the following main features:
- Based on the popular open source Parallella-64 single board computer
- A total of 2,112 floating point high performance RISC processors
- 32 Epiphany Epiphany-IV 64-core 28nm coprocessor chips
- 32 Zynq dual-core ARM SOCs from Xilinx.
- 50 Gbits/sec proprietary inter-board communication links
- Gigabit ethernet
- 200 Watts total system power consumption and 15 GFLOPS/Watt efficiency
- A basic system size of 15cm x 15cm x 68 cm.
The “A-1″ will be unveiled and booted “flip the switch” at 6pm Monday June 23rd, at Booth 205 on the ISC14 exhibit floor.
